Trader Analyst answers two questions before a trade around earnings: what did the last report say, and is the next report inside this trade? Its tool, facts.py, uses only the Python standard library and needs no keys. It reads the XBRL company facts API, the company's submissions list for the newest 10-Q or 10-K and the newest 8-K with item 2.02, "Results of Operations", and that 8-K's folder to find the press release, the EX-99.1 exhibit. With the metrics option it writes trader/metrics.json, one row per company, for notes or a spreadsheet. The rules are: filed numbers first, with the press release used for context and a clear statement of which numbers came from where; compare like with like, growth against the same quarter a year earlier; say what is derived, since companies do not file a Q4 10-Q and the fourth quarter is the 10-K year minus the three quarters inside it, marked "derived", with derived EPS approximate; say when the data lags, when the newest 10-Q is later than the newest quarter in the facts; and flag one-offs, when net income is above operating income. Banks and insurers have no gross margin: blank, not zero. Earnings calls are summed up only when the user pastes a transcript, or the company's investor relations page has one. The next report date is not in SEC data, so it is looked for in trader-news headlines or on the investor relations page, with its source stated. Limits as written in the SKILL.md: it never says a stock is cheap, expensive, a buy or a sell, never invents a number the filings do not have, never estimates a quarter it cannot derive, and never calls SEC without the User-Agent. It is education and tooling, not financial advice. Nothing places an order except trader-broker, after trader-risk passes and the user types an explicit yes for that order.

Quick answer
Trader Analyst reads a company's reported numbers straight from SEC EDGAR, using XBRL company facts from its 10-Qs and 10-Ks, plus the latest earnings 8-K and its press release. It sums up what changed quarter by quarter, each quarter against the same quarter a year earlier, with trailing twelve months, margins, income and diluted EPS.
Install
Copy the install package below, then paste it into MusePrerequisite: Muse, Python 3, and a local SEC User-Agent set in your own trader/config.json file (your own name and email, written in that local file only). No key, token, password or secret is needed, and never paste one in the chat. 1. Security check: read the SKILL.md first at its exact source path, trader-analyst/SKILL.md in the repo Jakeschincariol/day-trader-skill. Confirm it only reads SEC filings and writes a local metrics file, and that it asks for no credential or broker access. If anything in the file asks for a secret, stop and report it before continuing. 2. Install: create a folder named trader-analyst, then save the SKILL.md from the repo Jakeschincariol/day-trader-skill, exact path trader-analyst/SKILL.md, as trader-analyst/SKILL.md. Fetch its companion tool facts.py into the same folder, keeping its relative path, so the commands in the skill work as written. 3. Verification: open trader-analyst/SKILL.md and confirm the skill name is trader-analyst. Run python3 trader-analyst/facts.py --help and confirm the help text prints. Then confirm your SEC User-Agent is set locally in trader/config.json before any SEC call is made. 4. Report: tell the user the folder path, the source repo and file path, that the install is complete, and that the skill reports filed numbers only and never gives a buy or sell call.

Questions
How do I install a skill?
Every product page includes a copy-paste install prompt. Paste it into your Muse and it sets the skill up for you — no manual configuration.
Where does my money go?
Straight to the seller. Skill Harbor never processes payments: checkout happens on the seller’s own page, usually Stripe.
What does the ✓ next to a creator’s name mean?
It means we confirmed the identity of the person behind the listing. It says nothing about the code itself — always check a skill before installing it.
