Blender Game Optimization

Optimize Blender assets for real-time engines: triangle, material, texture and bone budgets per platform (mobile, Roblox, web, VR, console, PC), LOD chains at 50/25/12.5%, mesh cleanup, and draw-call reduction, with two Blender scripts that measure a mesh against a budget and build its LODs.

Skill Harbor never reviews the code of a listed skill. These are dated facts about the install prompt and our install test, not a safety certification. Review a skill yourself before you install it. How we verify

Before you start: read this whole install prompt, tell me in a few lines what this skill does and what installing it involves, and wait for my go-ahead before you do anything else. Prerequisites: Blender 5.2 LTS or newer is required to use this skill (announce it up front: the scripts run only inside Blender 5.2 LTS+ and will not run in a plain Python environment). Installing the skill files themselves needs no account, no API key and no paid service, and nothing else to install first. Blender itself is not installed by this prompt: if I do not have Blender 5.2 LTS+, I install it myself, separately. Install "blender-game-optimization" for me. It is a Blender game-optimization skill: a SKILL.md playbook plus three Blender Python scripts that measure triangle, material, texture and bone budgets per platform (mobile, Roblox, web, VR, console, PC), clean meshes, and build LOD chains with Decimate. Repository: https://github.com/EL4CTEO/blender-skills (the skill is the skills/blender-game-optimization/ folder at the pinned commit only; the repository holds 22 skills in total, and the other 21 are not part of this install) Pinned version: install the code at commit 71d031dab8bc6729504d11a78cbe91945401045f exactly. Do not substitute a newer version. If this commit is unreachable, stop and tell me. 1. Clone https://github.com/EL4CTEO/blender-skills into a temporary folder, check out commit 71d031dab8bc6729504d11a78cbe91945401045f, and copy the skills/blender-game-optimization/ folder from that checkout. Then compare every file in the folder with the fingerprints recorded for this listing on 2026-10-19: [FINGERPRINTS] - SKILL.md: SHA-256 2c8e6c6cf1676ee300cac12e6c2fda27c973c787375e1b720358d34c78315fd5 - scripts/_bpyx.py: SHA-256 a3339ba8a678469e8ed29510e32a7331e0235202191ca4edb977af4720819b4b - scripts/make_lods.py: SHA-256 61076e02df93cfa8126a54466540db5a87d763a9910c9e650d441608678c15de - scripts/mesh_stats.py: SHA-256 6f48790b87b90cd15d4c20e6884dcfedf9aa65292f4afcc7fad9fcf7eb8216bc If a file does not match, it changed since the listing was prepared: do not install it yet, tell me what you found and let me decide. 2. Read all the files in the folder in full (SKILL.md and the three scripts) and tell me in plain words: what the skill does when used, which services it connects to, whether it reads or sends any personal information or keys, and anything that seems unusual. Stop on any red flag and tell me before going further. Confirm these points from the files: - The skill folder holds four files: SKILL.md (5,978 bytes), scripts/_bpyx.py (4,503 bytes), scripts/make_lods.py (3,956 bytes) and scripts/mesh_stats.py (3,920 bytes). There is no dependency list: the scripts import only Blender's own modules (bpy, bmesh) and the Python standard library. - Nothing is sent anywhere during installation itself; the only download at install time is the skill folder from GitHub at the pinned commit. The skill files name no account, no API key, no telemetry and no remote service, and the three scripts contain no network call at all (no curl, wget, fetch, requests, socket or URL). - At use time, everything runs locally inside Blender, on a .blend file and objects I point you at: mesh_stats.py reports triangles, vertices, materials (estimated draw calls), texture VRAM and bones against a platform budget; make_lods.py cleans a mesh (merge by distance, dissolve degenerate, delete loose) only with --cleanup and builds _LOD1 to _LOD3 copies at 50%, 25% and 12.5% with a COLLAPSE Decimate modifier; _bpyx.py is the shared helper (argument parsing after --, one @@JSON@@ result line, object selection). A script writes a .blend file only when a --save path is passed. No usage is launched during this install. - SKILL.md says the execution model is in blender-core, to always re-run blender-asset-qa after optimizing, and to export via blender-export-pipelines. Those are other skills in the same repository: they are not part of this install, do not install them here, and tell me if a later use needs them. - Do not use the repository installer (install/install.sh or install/install.ps1) for this install: it installs all 22 skills at once. This install copies only the blender-game-optimization folder, from the pinned commit, as described above. 3. When I say "yes, install", install it as a skill: copy the whole blender-game-optimization folder into the agent's skills directory, in a folder named "blender-game-optimization", keeping SKILL.md and its scripts/ subfolder. 4. Verify with no network calls: frontmatter valid, files in place, fingerprints still matching. 5. Report what was installed, where, and what I still need to do myself (for example: install Blender 5.2 LTS or newer myself if I do not already have it, and provide any .blend asset myself; using the skill is a separate step that only starts when I ask for it, inside Blender, on files I name). GitHub is optional: if I have a GitHub account or the gh CLI, you may use it; otherwise public access is fine. Never require it unless it's in the prerequisites above. Rules: don't touch anything outside the temp folder and the install target. If anything looks off, stop and ask me.

Questions

How do I install a build?

Every product page includes a copy-paste install prompt. Paste it into your Muse and it sets the build up for you — no manual configuration.

Where does my money go?

Straight to the seller. Skill Harbor never processes payments: checkout happens on the seller’s own page, usually Stripe.

What does the ✓ next to a creator’s name mean?

It means we confirmed the identity of the person behind the listing. It says nothing about the code itself — always check a build before installing it.
