Stock Quote

A current quote for any ticker from Yahoo Finance: price, change, volume versus average, market cap, 52-week range, P/E and dividend yield in one answer.

⚠️ **Trading warning / Avertissement trading** : informational only, not investment advice. A quote is a snapshot, not a recommendation: a stock up 3 percent today can be down 5 tomorrow, and acting on a headline number carries a real risk of loss. No output here is a promise of return. Curated by Skill Harbor: the current quote for a ticker, fetched from Yahoo Finance and presented as a readable snapshot rather than raw JSON. One call returns the symbol and company name, the current price with the day's change in dollars and percent, today's volume against the average volume, market capitalization, the 52-week high and low, the P/E ratio and the dividend yield; the agent is told to present the data readably and to highlight significant moves, defined in the skill as a change beyond 2 percent. It is the quickest question in this toolkit (what is it trading at, and is today unusual) and the natural first step before the deeper chain, history or scanner skills. It runs as a Python script (scripts/quote.py, needs yfinance) from the staskh/trading_skills repo, with timestamps in New York time and a data delay field stamped on the output. From the staskh/trading_skills repository (MIT). Honest caveats: Yahoo Finance quotes are free but unofficial and can be delayed, so the price here is a reference, not an executable quote, and you should confirm it in your broker before any order; after-hours and pre-market moves may not be reflected the way a live feed shows them; and a single snapshot says nothing about why the stock moved. Skill Harbor never reviews the code, review it yourself before use.

How to check a build before installing →

Use "Stock Quote" with your Muse. Prerequisites: clone the repo once (git clone https://github.com/staskh/trading_skills) and keep the folder handy; the skills live in .claude/skills/ and the scripts run from the repo with uv (uv run python), or with plain python if uv is not installed. This skill needs yfinance, installed through the repo project. No API key and no brokerage account are required; the data comes from Yahoo Finance via the free yfinance library (unofficial, possibly delayed). 1. Open the skill: https://github.com/staskh/trading_skills/blob/main/.claude/skills/stock-quote/SKILL.md and copy the full SKILL.md text. 2. Paste it into a chat with Muse and add: "Quote TSLA for me: current price, change in dollars and percent, volume versus average, market cap, where it sits in its 52-week range, P/E and dividend yield, and flag it if the move is beyond 2 percent." 3. Read volume against its average before reading the price move: a big move on thin volume is a different event from the same move on triple volume. Tip: quote the index (SPY) alongside a single name when a move looks dramatic; half the time the whole market moved and the stock just followed. Safety: a skill is plain-text instructions; it runs nothing by itself. This is informational only, not investment advice.

Questions

How do I install a build?

Every product page includes a copy-paste install prompt. Paste it into your Muse and it sets the build up for you — no manual configuration.

Where does my money go?

Straight to the seller. Skill Harbor never processes payments: checkout happens on the seller’s own page, usually Stripe.

What does the ✓ next to a creator’s name mean?

It means we confirmed the identity of the person behind the listing. It says nothing about the code itself — always check a build before installing it.
