The lightest way to follow Mercury retrograde without the folklore panic and without a full astrology app. Mercury Retrograde is a tiny standalone micro-skill from the Ciel et Bien-etre family: it answers one question well, keeps one short journal, and then gets out of the way. The dates are astronomy and they are checkable: six Mercury retrograde periods for 2026 and 2027, copied faithfully from the same cross-checked calendar that powers Celestial Journal. The meanings are tradition, and the skill labels them as tradition every single time. It starts with a one-line honesty note: retrograde motion is apparent motion. Mercury never actually reverses; from Earth it only looks like it moves backwards for a few weeks because Earth overtakes it on its own orbit. Ask "is Mercury retrograde today?" and you get a plain yes with the period and its sign, or a plain no with the next period coming up. Turn alerts on and you get two calm warnings only: one three days before a period starts, and one on the first day, with the tradition's soft lens: review, re-read, build in buffer, double-check. No predictions, no anxious tone, no "do not sign, do not travel". If you say yes, the skill opens a mini-journal for that single period, stored locally on your device. You dictate 30-second entries whenever something feels worth noting; at the end of the period, the assistant reads them back and asks for your verdict: resonated, did not resonate, or in between. That is the whole skill: small, honest, and easy to share. If you later want Moon phases, eclipses, crystals and long-term statistics, its big sibling Celestial Journal does all that, but it is entirely optional.
