IB Stop-Loss Manager

Downside stop-loss management for PMCC, naked LEAPS and stock positions in a real Interactive Brokers account: computed stop prices, alerts, and conditional combo orders, dry-run by default.

⚠️ **Finance warning / Avertissement finance** : informational only, not investment advice. This skill connects to a REAL Interactive Brokers account and, in execute mode, it can place, modify and cancel real protective orders on that account: a wrong stop percentage, a wrong basis or a misread position can close positions you wanted to keep or leave you less protected than you think, there is a real risk of loss on every position it touches, and no output here is a promise of return. Curated by Skill Harbor: the IB stop-loss manager of staskh/trading_skills. Use it to manage downside stops on PMCC diagonal spreads, naked LEAPS and plain stock positions held at Interactive Brokers. The script computes a stop price per position (basis times one minus the stop percentage, 40 percent by default, the basis being the higher of mid price and average cost unless forced mode uses the current mid), classifies each position as pmcc, leaps or stock, and reports the action per position: place a new stop, preserve a more protective existing stop, or overwrite in forced mode. For a PMCC the stop is a single conditional combo (BAG) order that closes the LEAPS and all the short legs atomically, identified as SL_FALL orders, and orphan stops for gone positions are flagged, then cancelled in execute mode. The report leads with the alert-soon symbols (loss at or beyond half the stop percentage) and groups the alerts: LEAPS early warning, short premium 90 percent decayed (close or roll), and spot at or near the short strike. Default mode is dry-run, no orders are placed unless execute is explicitly in the request, and forced mode additionally requires execute. From the staskh/trading_skills repository (MIT). Honest caveats: this runs against your real account through TWS or IB Gateway on your own machine, port 7497 is paper trading and port 7496 is the live real-money account, and the skill retries on the other port if the first fails, so check which account you are actually connected to before any execute run and start on paper; your credentials belong only in the local gateway or in environment variables such as IB_PORT, never in a chat. Skill Harbor never reviews the code, review it yourself before use.

Use "IB Stop-Loss Manager" with your Muse. MAXIMUM WARNING, READ FIRST: this skill connects to a REAL Interactive Brokers account through TWS or IB Gateway running locally with the API enabled, and in execute mode it CAN place, modify and cancel real protective orders on that account. Port 7497 is paper trading by default and port 7496 is the live real-money account. Start on paper trading, verify the account shown in the report before any execute run, and remember the skill retries on the other port if the first one fails. Your credentials stay only inside the local TWS or Gateway login or in environment variables (IB_PORT), never paste them into a chat. Prerequisites: the staskh/trading_skills repo cloned locally, uv (or Python) with the trading-skills dependencies including ib-async, and positions of type PMCC, naked LEAPS or stock in the account. Informational only, not investment advice, and there is a real risk of loss on every position. 1. Open the skill: https://github.com/staskh/trading_skills/blob/main/.claude/skills/ib-stop-loss/SKILL.md and copy the full SKILL.md text. 2. Paste it into a chat with Muse and add: "Run the IB stop-loss manager in dry-run mode only: compute the stop price for each PMCC, naked LEAPS and stock position, show the existing conditional orders and any orphans, lead with the alert-soon symbols, and group the alerts. Do not execute anything." 3. Only after you have checked the dry-run report, the account type (paper on 7497 versus live on 7496) and every stop price, ask explicitly for an execute run if you still want the SL_ orders placed. Tip: use the legs flag when several PMCC or LEAPS pairings share one symbol, so only the pairing you name gets a stop. Safety: a skill is plain-text instructions; it runs nothing by itself, but the script it drives talks to your real broker account. Dry-run by default, execute only on your explicit word. Informational only, not investment advice.

Questions

How do I install a build?

Every product page includes a copy-paste install prompt. Paste it into your Muse and it sets the build up for you — no manual configuration.

Where does my money go?

Straight to the seller. Skill Harbor never processes payments: checkout happens on the seller’s own page, usually Stripe.

What does the ✓ next to a creator’s name mean?

It means we confirmed the identity of the person behind the listing. It says nothing about the code itself — always check a build before installing it.
