⚠️ **Finance warning / Avertissement finance** : informational only, not investment advice. This skill analyzes positions in a REAL Interactive Brokers account and proposes roll and covered call candidates: every candidate is a trade you would still have to place yourself and judge yourself, a roll can lock in a loss or add risk instead of reducing it, there is a real risk of loss on every short option position, and no output here is a promise of return. Curated by Skill Harbor: the IB short roll finder of staskh/trading_skills. Use it when you ask about rolling a short option position, finding roll candidates, writing covered calls, or managing option positions at Interactive Brokers. The skill auto-detects what you hold for the symbol and switches mode accordingly: with an existing short option position it analyzes roll candidates to other expirations and strikes (roll mode), with a long option position it finds the best short leg to complete a vertical spread (spread mode), and with long stock it finds the best covered call, or protective put, to open (new short mode); with none of these it returns an error unless you specify strike and expiry manually. The strike search band is IV-aware, scaled from the at-the-money implied volatility, the days to expiry of the nearest roll expiry and a multiplier you can raise for high-IV names, and the current position data includes IV and delta from IB model greeks. The output is a markdown report saved locally, leading with the recommended position and its credit or debit. Stated exactly as its SKILL.md describes it: this is an analysis and reporting tool, the script reads positions and real-time data and produces candidate reports, and no execution mode or order placement is described anywhere in the skill; any roll you decide on is placed by you, in TWS, yourself. From the staskh/trading_skills repository (MIT). Honest caveats: this reads your real account through TWS or IB Gateway on your own machine, port 7497 is paper trading and port 7496 is the live real-money account, and the skill retries on the other port if the first fails, so check which account the data came from and start on paper; your credentials belong only in the local gateway or in environment variables such as IB_PORT, never in a chat. Dependencies are ib-async and yfinance, and all timestamps use the America/New_York timezone. Skill Harbor never reviews the code, review it yourself before use.

Install
Copy the install package below, then paste it into MuseThe install prompt below already includes the vetting steps: your agent follows the community checklist before installing anything with executable code. Want more?
Use "IB Short Roll Finder" with your Muse. MAXIMUM WARNING, READ FIRST: this skill reads positions from a REAL Interactive Brokers account through TWS or IB Gateway running locally with the API enabled. Port 7497 is paper trading by default and port 7496 is the live real-money account; start on paper and check which account the data came from, because the skill retries on the other port if the first one fails. Your credentials stay only inside the local TWS or Gateway login or in environment variables (IB_PORT), never paste them into a chat. Prerequisites: the staskh/trading_skills repo cloned locally, uv (or Python) with ib-async and yfinance, and an existing short option, long option or long stock position for the symbol (or a manual strike and expiry). This skill is analysis only: it produces a candidate report and places no orders, any roll is placed by you yourself. Informational only, not investment advice, and there is a real risk of loss on every short option position. 1. Open the skill: https://github.com/staskh/trading_skills/blob/main/.claude/skills/ib-find-short-roll/SKILL.md and copy the full SKILL.md text. 2. Paste it into a chat with Muse and add: "Analyze the roll options for this symbol in my IB account: detect the position type, run the matching mode, and give me the recommended candidate with its credit or debit and the saved report path. Analysis only, place nothing." 3. Compare the recommended candidate against simply closing the position before you act: a roll is a new trade with its own risk, not a repair. Tip: raise the IV multiplier for high-IV names, otherwise the strike band stays too narrow and the best candidates never surface. Safety: a skill is plain-text instructions; it runs nothing by itself. Analysis and reporting only, no order placement described in the skill. Informational only, not investment advice.

Questions
How do I install a build?
Every product page includes a copy-paste install prompt. Paste it into your Muse and it sets the build up for you — no manual configuration.
Where does my money go?
Straight to the seller. Skill Harbor never processes payments: checkout happens on the seller’s own page, usually Stripe.
What does the ✓ next to a creator’s name mean?
It means we confirmed the identity of the person behind the listing. It says nothing about the code itself — always check a build before installing it.
