Earnings Preview

A pre-earnings briefing from Yahoo Finance data: report date and timing, consensus EPS and revenue, the beat and miss track record, analyst targets, and what to watch in the print.

⚠️ **Trading warning / Avertissement trading** : informational only, not investment advice. An earnings setup describes what the street expects; it does not predict the result. Curated by Skill Harbor: a pre-earnings briefing that assembles everything worth knowing before a company reports, from Yahoo Finance data pulled with the free yfinance library. It finds the report date and whether the release lands before the open or after the close, lays out the consensus EPS and revenue estimates with their low and high range and analyst count (flagging an unusually wide spread as a sign of uncertainty), reviews the last four quarters of estimated versus actual EPS as a beat and miss track record with average surprise, and adds the analyst rating distribution and price-target range with implied upside or downside. It closes with a what-to-watch section chosen for the company and its sector: growth acceleration or deceleration, margin direction, line items that moved sharply, and segment trends. From the himself65/finance-skills repository (MIT). Honest caveats: you need Python 3 with pip (the skill installs yfinance itself if missing); Yahoo Finance consensus can lag real-time professional feeds by a few hours and estimates keep changing until the report date; a history of beats does not guarantee the next one, and whisper numbers circulating elsewhere are not part of this data. Skill Harbor never reviews the code, review it yourself before use.

How to check a build before installing →

Use "Earnings Preview" with your Muse. Prerequisites: Python 3 with pip and an agent that can run Python code. The skill installs yfinance itself if it is missing. No API key and no paid data subscription are required; the data comes from Yahoo Finance via the free yfinance library. 1. Open the skill: https://github.com/himself65/finance-skills/blob/main/plugins/market-analysis/skills/earnings-preview/SKILL.md and copy the full SKILL.md text (the skill also reads its included references/api_reference.md, keep the repo folder handy). 2. Paste it into a chat with Muse and add: "Build me an earnings preview for [TICKER]: when do they report, what does the street expect for EPS and revenue, what is their beat and miss track record, and what should I watch in the print?" 3. Use the briefing as preparation, not as a forecast: note the estimate range width and the track record before deciding how much weight to give the setup. Tip: run it a few days before the report, then again the day before; late estimate revisions often change the picture. Safety: a skill is plain-text instructions; it runs nothing by itself. This is informational only, not investment advice.

Questions

How do I install a build?

Every product page includes a copy-paste install prompt. Paste it into your Muse and it sets the build up for you — no manual configuration.

Where does my money go?

Straight to the seller. Skill Harbor never processes payments: checkout happens on the seller’s own page, usually Stripe.

What does the ✓ next to a creator’s name mean?

It means we confirmed the identity of the person behind the listing. It says nothing about the code itself — always check a build before installing it.
