Deal Screening

Rapid triage of a deal opportunity with a structured scoring rubric, TAM logic and sponsor-fit criteria, ending in a defensible go or no-go.

⚠️ **Finance warning / Avertissement finance** : informational only, not investment advice. Screening is a first filter, not a diligence opinion: a deal that passes can still lose money, there is a real risk of loss in any private equity transaction, and no score here is a promise of return. Curated by Skill Harbor: the deal screening skill of the private equity pack in andreworia/claude-finance-skills. Use it when a teaser arrives, inbound or proactively sourced, in a sponsored auction or a proprietary process, and you need a rapid, defensible recommendation in one sitting. The method ingests the teaser or CIM executive summary (sector, revenue and EBITDA, growth, business model, process type and timeline, ownership and stated reason for sale) and flags hard stops at once: regulated industry or geography outside the fund mandate, size outside the target cheque range, obvious ESG exclusions. It then tests thesis fit on sector, stage and scale, and return profile (at a sector-normal entry multiple, can a five-year hold deliver the fund target on conservative assumptions). Market sizing runs a top-down and bottom-up cross-check and flags the sizing as a risk when the two are more than three times apart, business quality is scored green, amber or red with one line of evidence each (revenue quality, customer concentration, gross margin, management, moat, organic growth stripped of M&A, working capital), and a preliminary financial pass computes LTM EBITDA and margin, growth, capex intensity and free cash flow conversion, with a quality of earnings haircut flagged when add-backs look recurring. Risks are mapped MECE across business, financial, execution and macro, each with severity, probability and mitigant, and the note ends in one of four outcomes: pass to full diligence, conditional pass, monitor, or pass. From the andreworia/claude-finance-skills repository (MIT). Honest caveats: every figure comes from seller material or your own inputs and must be verified by you in diligence; a teaser is a marketing document, and the screen is only as honest as the data behind it. Skill Harbor never reviews the code, review it yourself before use.

Use "Deal Screening" with your Muse. Prerequisites: the teaser, CIM executive summary or descriptive paragraph for the opportunity, your fund mandate summary (sector focus, geography, target EBITDA range and cheque size), and whatever financials exist, even one year of revenue and EBITDA. No broker account and no credentials are involved: this skill produces a screening note only. Every figure you supply is an assumption to verify in diligence. Informational only, not investment advice. 1. Open the skill: https://github.com/andreworia/claude-finance-skills/blob/main/packs/private-equity/skills/deal-screening/SKILL.md and copy the full SKILL.md text. 2. Paste it into a chat with Muse and add: "Screen this opportunity: summarise the deal, test thesis fit on sector, scale and return profile, cross-check the market sizing top-down and bottom-up, score business quality green, amber or red with evidence, flag the MECE risks, and give me one recommended next action with the top two reasons." 3. Check the hard stops and the add-back haircut first: a pass that rests on seller EBITDA or an implausible growth requirement is not a pass. Tip: keep the note to the stated 600 to 900 words; a screen that reads like a full diligence memo has skipped the triage decision it exists to make. Safety: a skill is plain-text instructions; it runs nothing by itself. Analysis and documents only, no orders and no account access. Informational only, not investment advice.

Questions

How do I install a build?

Every product page includes a copy-paste install prompt. Paste it into your Muse and it sets the build up for you — no manual configuration.

Where does my money go?

Straight to the seller. Skill Harbor never processes payments: checkout happens on the seller’s own page, usually Stripe.

What does the ✓ next to a creator’s name mean?

It means we confirmed the identity of the person behind the listing. It says nothing about the code itself — always check a build before installing it.
