Comparable Analysis

Build a trading comparables set with cleaned EV/EBITDA, EV/EBIT and P/E multiples, a median benchmark, and an implied value range for the subject.

⚠️ **Finance warning / Avertissement finance** : informational only, not investment advice. Market multiples move with the market, a comps read says where peers trade today and not what a business is worth in any absolute sense, and no implied range here is a promise of return. Curated by Skill Harbor: the trading comparables skill of the investment banking pack in andreworia/claude-finance-skills. Use it when you need a market read from public peers rather than an intrinsic estimate: sizing where the market prices a business today, sanity-checking a DCF, or setting an IPO or offer range. The method runs in eight steps. It defines the subject profile (sector, size, growth, margins) and screens a tight, defensible peer set, because a short clean set beats a long loose one. It pulls the market and financial data each multiple needs (share price, diluted shares, net debt, LTM and forward EBITDA, EBIT and EPS), then cleans for comparability: non-recurring items stripped, stock-based compensation and lease treatment standardized across the set, fiscal years calendarized to a common end. It computes enterprise value correctly and keeps numerator and denominator consistent (EV pairs with EBITDA and EBIT, equity value pairs with EPS), spreads EV/EBITDA, EV/EBIT and P/E on LTM and forward bases so outliers show, and summarizes the set with median, mean and interquartile range, preferring the median where the set is small or skewed. Finally it applies the low, median and high multiples to the subject's own cleaned metric for an implied range, and interprets where the subject belongs given its growth and margins, naming any peer that was down-weighted and why, such as a peer mid-acquisition with a distorted multiple. The worked example in the file is fictional and illustrative. From the andreworia/claude-finance-skills repository (MIT). Honest caveats: the skill needs peer data you supply or source yourself, and its quality depends entirely on the cleaning step; unadjusted one-off items quietly corrupt the benchmark. Skill Harbor never reviews the code, review it yourself before use.

How to check a build before installing →

Use "Comparable Analysis" with your Muse. Prerequisites: the subject's LTM and forward EBITDA, EBIT and EPS, its net debt and diluted shares, and a candidate peer list (or permission for Muse to propose one), plus peer market data you supply or source (share prices, shares, net debt, financials). A spreadsheet tool helps you keep the set afterwards: this skill produces the comps, the benchmark and the interpretation in prose, and every figure in it is yours to verify. Informational only, not investment advice. 1. Open the skill: https://github.com/andreworia/claude-finance-skills/blob/main/packs/investment-banking/skills/comparable-analysis/SKILL.md and copy the full SKILL.md text. 2. Paste it into a chat with Muse and add: "Build the trading comps: screen the peer set, clean every peer for non-recurring items and consistent lease and stock-comp treatment, spread the multiples, give me the median benchmark, and apply it to the subject with the interpretation." 3. Ask which peers were down-weighted or excluded and why before you use the range. Tip: prefer the median over the mean on a small or skewed set, and reconcile the LTM and forward reads; a wide gap usually signals a growth or margin inflection worth explaining. Safety: a skill is plain-text instructions; it runs nothing by itself. Analysis only, no orders and no account access. Informational only, not investment advice.

Questions

How do I install a build?

Every product page includes a copy-paste install prompt. Paste it into your Muse and it sets the build up for you — no manual configuration.

Where does my money go?

Straight to the seller. Skill Harbor never processes payments: checkout happens on the seller’s own page, usually Stripe.

What does the ✓ next to a creator’s name mean?

It means we confirmed the identity of the person behind the listing. It says nothing about the code itself — always check a build before installing it.
