Hand Muse a research question and it investigates against high-trust primary sources — official docs, specs, first-party APIs — rather than second-hand write-ups, following every claim back to the source that owns it and capturing the findings as a cited Markdown report. Honest note: the original text is written with a developer's workflow in mind (it talks about background agents and saving notes in a repo), but the discipline works for any researcher — point it at the primary sources of your own field and read the cited report yourself. Prerequisites: None — just paste the prompt into a Muse conversation. Install "Deep Research Skill for Muse" for me. Ask Muse a research question and it investigates against high-trust primary sources, tracing every claim back to its source and delivering a cited Markdown report. Fetch the SKILL.md file from the repository path into a temporary folder and summarize what it does in one or two sentences. 2. Safety check: review the SKILL.md for anything suspicious (unexpected network calls, shell commands, credential harvesting). This repo should contain zero secrets in code. Verify that holds here; STOP on any red flag and tell me. 3. Install it as a skill: copy SKILL.md into the agent's skills directory, in a folder named "research". 4. Verify with no network calls: frontmatter valid, files in place. 5. Report what was installed, where, and what I still need to do myself. GitHub is optional: if I have a GitHub account or the gh CLI, you may use it; otherwise public access is fine. Rules: don't touch anything outside the temp folder and the install target. If anything looks off, stop and ask me.
