First, the name: this has nothing to do with gardening — "gardening" is travel-hacker slang (after Nicholas Kralev, popularized by View from the Wing) for regularly tending your flight and hotel reservations. Point the skill at your reservations file and it audits every booking: price-drop detection (flags cash fares ≥10% or ≥$50 cheaper, award repricing, hotel rate drops, nearby-airport alternatives), better routing (nonstops that opened up, shorter connections), better cabin availability (upgrade math in miles vs. cash), schedule-change and aircraft-swap detection, and seat-assignment checks — delivered as a per-reservation audit report with a priority action list, plus a gardening cadence (monthly for far-out trips, weekly then daily as departure nears). Honest note: the core audit works with free web search, but the deepest checks lean on the suggested tools (Duffel, Seats.aero, AwardWallet, LiteAPI) and your own loyalty accounts — bring your accounts if you want them used.
